What is Dollar Insights?
Dollar Insights turns your financial spreadsheet data into clear, visual dashboards and insights. It helps you understand your spending, budgets, accounts and trends without having to build the analysis yourself.
How does Dollar Insights get my financial data?
Dollar Insights reads financial data from a Google Sheet. It is designed to work with Tiller-powered Google Sheets, where your transactions and account balances flow in automatically.
Tiller is a separate service with its own subscription. Dollar Insights is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Tiller.
You can also explore Dollar Insights with sample data without connecting your own financial information.
Will my sheet work?
Yes, if it uses Tiller's standard tabs. Dollar Insights reads your Transactions tab (Date, Description, Amount, Category and Account), your Categories tab so income and spending are sorted correctly, and your Balance History tab for account balances and net worth.
If you've renamed one of those tabs or columns, Dollar Insights won't find it. Any extra tabs or columns you've added are ignored, and your sheet is never changed.
Does Dollar Insights change my Google Sheet?
No. Dollar Insights only reads the spreadsheet you choose. It does not change your transactions, categories, formulas or other spreadsheet data.
What Google information can Dollar Insights access?
Dollar Insights can access only the spreadsheet you select through Google's file picker, along with your email address to identify the connected account. It cannot browse the rest of your Google Drive.

Does Dollar Insights have my bank username or password?
No. Dollar Insights never connects directly to your bank and never sees your bank username or password. Any bank connection is handled separately by the service that feeds your spreadsheet.
Where is my financial data stored, and can I use multiple devices?
Dollar Insights processes your financial data in your browser and stores it locally on your device. Your financial data is not sent to Dollar Insights servers or to outside AI/ML services.
Each browser or device keeps its own local copy, so your Dollar Insights data and settings do not automatically sync between devices. See our Privacy Policy for details.
What does "AI recommended" mean on the Budgeting page?
When you organize your budget categories, Dollar Insights recommends how each one behaves (Fixed, Variable or Occasional) from your own spending history. Those recommendations are worked out in your browser, on your device. Your financial data is not sent to an AI service or to any other server.
What happens if I disconnect my Google Sheet or want to remove my data?
Disconnecting removes the connection to your selected Google Sheet, but your previously imported data remains in your browser until you use Clear imported data or Reset everything on the Data page.
Clear imported data removes your transactions, balances and import history. Your categories and budgets remain. Reset everything removes those too, along with your account list and transfer keywords.
Disconnecting also removes the Google permissions you granted to Dollar Insights. If Google can't be reached at that moment, the app tells you, and you can remove them through your Google Account settings.
Does Dollar Insights support CSV uploads?
No. Dollar Insights is built around connected Google Sheets and does not support CSV uploads.
What if my financial data doesn't look right?
First, check your connected Google Sheet. Dollar Insights analyzes the information in that sheet, so missing, delayed, duplicated or miscategorized data can affect what you see.

Is Dollar Insights financial advice?
No. Dollar Insights provides calculations, visualizations and informational insights to help you understand your financial data. It does not provide individualized investment, tax, legal or financial advice.
Is there a free trial?
No. There is no public free trial (the invite-only Founding 10 beta is separate), but you can cancel anytime. To see the app first, try the demo, which uses sample data and needs no signup.
How much does Dollar Insights cost, and how do I cancel?
Dollar Insights is $8.99 per month, tax included, and renews monthly until canceled. There are no pricing tiers.
To cancel, choose Manage subscription on the Data page. This opens Stripe's secure billing page, where you can cancel your subscription.
Your access continues through the end of your paid billing period. Partial refunds are not provided for unused days. See our Terms of Service for details.
